The Top 5 Reasons You Aren’t Going to Heaven But Shouldn’t Lose Hope: via HuffPost http://huff.to/11wU0RK If life is an experiment by a god to dtermine who is moral and who isn’t, letting people know messes up the results. Who is the better person, one who does what is right only because it is right, or someone who does what is right primarily because they calculate it to be in their self-interest? It gets worse if people start calculating how moral they think they have to be to get in to heaven so they don’t have to go an inch further. Justice is its own reward. If you need bribes from god to act moral then you aren’t moral and that insincerity is going to manifest in some way. When put to a test one’s first thought should be to one’s duty, not to one’s soul. Thinking of one’s soul is no different than thinking to one’s physical safety, a fundamentally selfish and possibly narcisstic focus. Here’s a better use of faith: that if you do your duty then your god will do right by you. Why do you need a virtual tour of heaven? How would that affect your duty in any way?
