Fyi the “cloud” is inherently unsecure


My latest computer even offered to upload all contents to some cloud thing as “backup”.

I was thinking, who would be foolish enough to do that with anything remotely confidential- it’s almost as bad as posting it in a blog.  The NSA will automatically get all of it and it goes to some server that you have no control over, you don’t even know what country it’s in, let alone what security measures they’re taking.

Then there are the little gems like the universal backdoor that was found last year that the NSA discovered two years ago but couldn’t be bothered to warn anybody about.

I have to wonder in how many of these cases it’s really a PR stunt.
