Supreme Court DENIES Charles Warner’s Last-Minute Execution Stay Request – http://huff.to/1y3mXEx

Although I’m generally against the death penalty per se, I’m also against turning the interpretations of constitutions into some floaty, stream of consciousness, free association exercise.

Back when there was the firing squad there were probably times they didn’t shoot too straight.

The rule is against punishment that is cruel and unusual, not cruel or unusual.

Keeping somebody in a box is as cruel as any death penalty .  If I were in that situation I’d be suing to speed it up. And there’s nothing unusual about it.

Probably it should be a one drug sedative though and paralytics should be banned, they are to create an illusion of a peaceful death.  If we can’t handle how people move about when dying maybe we should look in the mirror.
