Pop psychology confuses psychopaths and sociopaths again.

“Psychopath. Successful Psychopath.” – http://huff.to/1MbblrH

Sociopaths and psychopaths can both be quite nasty but their motives for rejecting common morality are quite dissimilar.  Sociopaths have rules, just not the same ones other people do.  They may actually believe these rules a lot more strongly than the general population believes the normal rules.

In contrast, psychopaths are like weathervanes.  They don’t actually believe in anything.  They may pretend to believe in something strongly if it’s expedient but they don’t actually believe in anything.

Don’t expect a psychopath to take a bullet for you or jump on grenade. He won’t.

But if a sociopath likes you, he probably will.
